Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation is gearing up for the upcoming season

The past winter presented immense challenges for millions of Ukrainians, as they endured constant shelling and widespread power outages. With the looming possibility of continued russian terrorist attacks, the Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation is gearing up for the upcoming season.

We have taken proactive measures to support households and facilities housing internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Zakarpattia, Dnipro, and Kherson regions. Additionally, we have extended our assistance to residents grappling with the dire humanitarian consequences stemming from the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam, an area vulnerable to periodic shelling by the Russian army. We are immensely thankful for the generous financial support provided by Solidar Suisse.

Vostok SOS has successfully procured and distributed items valued at over UAH 3,426,000, including:

  • 100 sets of stoves, complete with chimneys, protective shields, and carbon monoxide detectors.
  • 122 pallets of fuel briquettes, totaling 116 tons in weight.
  • 300 electric convector heaters.
  • 2 stovetops with integrated clothes dryers.

“Many settlements in the Kherson region found themselves severed from gas and electricity supplies as a result of shelling by occupying forces. The stoves and fuel have proven to be indispensable for the residents, enabling them to prepare meals and stay warm,” remarked Denys Hedrovych, Humanitarian Programs Manager at the Foundation.

This assistance was administered as a crucial component of the Humanitarian Response in Ukraine project.
