Canadian Photographer’s Picture of CF «East-SOS» Activities Wins USAID Contest

Recently, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held a photo contest with over 100 entries. The main goal was to draw public attention to the need for emergency response and support for those affected by war, environmental, and economic crises.

The organizers selected 6 winning photos, including one by Madison Tuff, a Canadian photographer. Her photo captures the evacuation team of the Charity Foundation “East SOS” meeting people returning from the temporarily occupied territories through the only checkpoint near the border with the russian federation.

On behalf of the Foundation, we express our gratitude to USAID for their consistent support and trust. The Agency is a reliable partner of CF “East SOS” in evacuation missions and providing assistance to those affected by the russian war in Ukraine.

Our sincere thanks also go to Madison Tuff for documenting the team’s activities. She bravely joined the foundation’s missions in Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions more than 20 times. It is important to note that the photographer also created a documentary about a day in the life of Eduard Skoryk, a member of the evacuation crew.

We would like to highlight that CF “East SOS” offers a full cycle of rescue to all residents of dangerous territories — from processing requests in the call center to providing accommodation and creating comfortable living conditions. Since February 24, 2022, together with our partners, we have evacuated more than 80,000 individuals, including over 10,000 persons with disabilities and reduced mobility. Our team supports evacuees in finding shelter, reissuing documents, and obtaining medical care.

You can submit your requests by contacting our call center, available Monday through Saturday (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) at 0800 332 614.
