Sharing warmth with shelters for IDPs and vulnerable groups

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, shelters and compact settlements in different parts of Ukraine have accommodated thousands of IDPs. The situation was further complicated by the 2022-2023 heating season. Due to constant hostile shelling, there were power and heat outages for several months. Shelter staff was forced to look for alternative sources of heating and cooking.

This year, in February-March, the Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation contributed to solving the problem and delivered the following items to 5 regions of Ukraine:

·       64 stoves and chimney sets;

·       12 stoves for cooking.

The assistance was provided to 22 shelters and places of compact residence in the Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, and Lviv regions.

The aid is for year-round use. It allows for an uninterrupted heating season and cooking in case of blackouts. Several people can use each stove at the same time.

The charitable aid was purchased as part of the project “Providing socially vulnerable groups with heating means for the winter period” with the support of the TIDES Foundation.
