Today, on the third Thursday of May, we traditionally celebrate International Vyshyvanka Day!
People are joining the celebration in many countries to support Ukrainians in the brutal war unleashed by russia.
Vyshyvanka is not only a piece of clothing but also an identity, history, and tradition. Our ancestors believed that an embroidered shirt is a lucky charm that contains the spirit of the nation.
Since February 24, 2022, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians have been forced to leave their native land, or lost their homes due to the full-scale russian war. Vyshyvanka is a symbol that helps us recognize each other in different parts of the world.
The ornaments of each region reflect the love for the country and language, as well as the memory of the struggle for freedom. Thread by thread, vyshyvanka unites the past, present and future.
On this day, the team of the Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation wishes us all victory, inspiration, and strength. Let traditions unite generations with a thin and unbreakable thread. We are all creating modern history and bringing peaceful life in our homeland closer every day.
Glory to Ukraine!
