During the mission, representatives of the foundation research the evacuation process and gather valuable information about humanitarian needs.
Currently, there is a checkpoint in the region near the border with russia, facilitating the return of individuals residing in the temporarily occupied territories to the government-controlled areas in the shortest possible time. The checkpoint serves as a meeting point for internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, and Mariupol.
Every morning, an evacuation train operates from Sumy to Kyiv, providing a means for people to reach the capital city. In Kyiv, they receive social benefits of UAH 2,000 from Ukrposhta or UAH 3,000 for children and disabled individuals. The Kyiv civil-military administration also offers accommodation in a modular town in the Kyiv region.
